MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – A Good Samaritan was stabbed when he tried to help a woman who was robbed in Midtown early Saturday morning, according to the NYPD.
Police said it happened at West 58th Street and 9th Avenue around 12:50 a.m. A 35-year-old woman’s phone was stolen by a man wearing all black, according to authorities.
Police said a 39-year-old man who witnessed the robbery tried to intervene. He was then stabbed in his lower left torso, according to authorities.
The man was taken to a local hospital and the woman was not injured. Police said the suspect fled to a nearby subway station in Columbus Circle.
