CHARLESTON, S.C. —
A storm without a name will bring flooding to the East Coast from South Carolina to New Jersey and high winds to New York City over the holiday weekend.
The storm will churn offshore through Sunday afternoon, delivering rough surf, gusty winds and periods of steady rain across the shoreline.

This will bring more coastal flooding and beach erosion, and the surf will remain dangerous with a high risk of rip currents.
Rainfall totals are forecast to reach 1 to 3 inches in many spots, with locally higher amounts possible.
UPSTATE FORECAST:
The system will also push showers into the Upstate.
There is a 40% chance of spotty showers on Saturday, but the majority of rain will stay near or east of I-26 and south of I-85.
