The Toronto Blue Jays will start Kevin Gausman in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.

The team confirmed it while announcing their plans for a late-Saturday batting practice at Rogers Centre in preparation for the best-of-seven series opener, which will also include interviews with the media.

The Jays had been awaiting their opponent since they eliminated the New York Yankees in Game 4 of their American League Division Series in the Bronx on Wednesday.

Seattle earned the other ALCS berth late Friday night, by outdueling the Detroit Tigers in a dramatic 15-inning marathon. The Mariners were flying to Toronto on Saturday.
