Hagerty coach Steve Mikles has been talking about this all season. He knew his squad was close to getting a big victory but the Huskies, as Mikles put it last week, “just can’t get over the hump.”

Friday night that hump was Lake Brantley, and they finally got over it. Hagerty, unranked in the Sentinel’s Super 16 Coaches Poll , shocked No 14 Brantley with a 24-7 victory to keep itself in contention to make the Class 7A playoffs.

No. 10 Lake Mary clinched the Class 7A, District 3 by knocking off No. 12 Seminole 24-21.

Three other district titles were settled Friday night as No. 1 Edgewater captured 5A-5 by routing Winter Springs 47-0, No. 9 Osceola won the 6A-5 title with a 13-10 win over Viera, and South Lake clinched 6A-6 with a 54-14 victory over Horizon.
