Two Bills defensive players will be out for more than a couple of weeks per head coach Sean McDermot. Rookie defensive tackle T.J. Sanders (knee) and safety Damar Hamlin (pectoral) have been placed on Injured Reserve.
Hamlin has played in five games this season, while Sanders has played in four. McDermott said Hamlin's injury happened during a practice.
"(Damar Hamlin) had a pec situation come up in practice," McDermott said.
Sanders was dealing with the knee injury for a bit but did not progress enough in the right direction.
"We were weighing the options and seeing what one day at a time would do in terms of improving his situation," McDermott said. "It didn't look like it was improving, so we decided to (have him) get surgery and put him on IR."
