On Saturday at 12:37 p.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Sunday 8 a.m. until Monday 11 a.m. for North Oregon Cascades, Cascades of Marion and Linn counties and Cascades of Lane County.

“Snow above 4000 ft. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches,” can be anticipated according to the weather service. “For elevations above 5000 ft, there is an 80% chance that snow accumulations will end up between of 4 to 15 inches. There is a 10% chance that snow accumulations of 15 inches or more.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” adds the weather service. “Have a winter emergency driving kit readily available. Common items to include: flashlight, batteries, blankets, a shovel, water, non-perishable
