NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – The Garden State is expected to see heavy rain, strong winds, and the possibility of flooding, according to the National Weather Service. NJ Transit is advising travelers to stay updated on service conditions in case of disruptions or suspensions.

New Jersey has declared a state of emergency beginning Saturday at 10 p.m.

Winds may reach up to 55 miles per hour, with widespread rainfall amounts potentially reaching up to three inches in some areas, which could lead to flooding in urban areas, according to the NWS.

NJ Transit travelers are advised to travel only if absolutely necessary.
