ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) — Hundreds of people gathered in Eldridge Park on Saturday morning for the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's. Families and volunteers said the event was a great way to build meaningful connections within the community.
"Being able to see our program and service managers here talking about the work that we do, seeing everyone who's on a journey with this disease coming together, learning that you're not alone," explained Eliott Houghtelling, the development manager for the local branch of the Alzheimer's Association. "There's these resources that exist. So, it's a massive support group really, and it's also a way to see where your dollars are going when you're fundraising to research to advocacy, and having programs locally."
