If anyone knows how much excitement Auburn football can create, it’s Cam Newton.
He was the centerpiece of Auburn’s 2010 national championship team, leading the Tigers to a 14-0 record as he took home the Heisman Trophy.
Newton will have his No. 2 jersey retired at halftime of Auburn’s upcoming game against Georgia, a game that is expected to bring the best out of Jordan-Hare Stadium. He talked about what that atmosphere can be while speaking to reporters during the game, giving high praise to the Auburn fans.
“This place is a difference-maker. I’ve seen it for myself,” Newton said. " I’ve been on sidelines where you know when the defense is out there, and I will -- I know what it’s capable of, and what it can produce. Hopefully we’ll be able to get to witness that tonight as well."
