Alabama football needed a big play. With 5:22 left in Saturday’s win over Missouri , the Crimson Tide was up 20-17 and Kalen DeBoer faced a choice between going for a fourth-and-eight from the Tiger 38, or trying a long field goal with a kicker who struggles from distance.

DeBoer opted to trust his offense, noting after the game that the Tide was too far out for the field goal.
