BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - One man is dead and another is behind bars after a domestic-related shooting in Beaufort County.

On Saturday, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a home on Cherry Road for a 911 call of a man being shot.

When deputies arrived, officials say they found the victim and other people inside the home. Officials say the man died from his injuries.

According to officials, the suspect, 33-year-old Brian Cox, left the scene before deputies arrived, but was then arrested minutes later in the driveway of his home on Terrapin Track Road.

Cox, of Washington, is facing one count of Murder and is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond.
