Old Dominion fell hard on Saturday afternoon, losing 48-24 to a sharp and determined Marshall team at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The Monarchs, previously winners of four straight games by comfortable margins, were undone by a series of critical errors and turnovers that gave the Thundering Herd repeated scoring opportunities.

ODU entered the game with a 4-1 record and had not lost since the season opener at Indiana. However, five turnovers—including a fumble, an interception, and two muffed punts—resulted in three Marshall touchdowns and a field goal, swinging momentum decisively in the home team’s favor.

The defeat continued a long and frustrating trend for Old Dominion against Marshall. The Monarchs are now 1-10 all-time against the Herd and have never won in Huntington. Marshall improve
