The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Mumbai remained in the ‘moderate’ category for the second day in a row on Sunday morning.

Mumbai ’s AQI, which read 149, as per the Air Quality Early Warning System at 5:30 am, however showed an increase from Saturday’s 139.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI reading is categorised as Good (0-50), Satisfactory (51-100), Moderately Polluted (101-200), Poor (201-300), Very Poor (301-400), and Severe (401-500). Based on these categories, higher the AQI reading, the unhealthier it gets to breathe.
