National Newspaper Week 2025 officially concluded Saturday, but we believe that awareness about the importance of local news outlets must be kept in mind year-round, now more than ever.

As a newspaper that can trace its roots back 117 years, we have a vested interest in convincing people to support local journalism, but the value of local reporters covering local events, both big and small, speaks for itself, if you listen.
