SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office aims to educate struggling youth and help put them on a better path.
On Sept. 27, a free youth program was held for the first time. Presented by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), the C.H.O.I.C.E (Choosing Healthy Options Instead of Criminal Engagement) program was held to support youth who are at risk, have faced disciplinary issues at school, or have arrest records.
“We’ve noticed over at CCC a surplus of youth, people under seventeen right now, not with petty charges. These kids are coming in here with things like murder, stolen vehicles, gun violence and so many other things,” says Lt. Nathaniel Bourn, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
