PHOENIX — One person is dead after a shooting in Peoria on Saturday night, according to officials with the city's police department.

Officers responded to the shooting near Peoria Avenue and Loop 101 just after 8 p.m. and found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

"At this time, there is no threat to the community, as all individuals involved are known to each other and no suspects are believed to be outstanding," Peoria police said.

Officials do not believe the shooting was related to a road rage shooting nearby.
