WASHINGTON, D.C. (WABI) - Nearly 75 Maine veterans are on the trip of a lifetime this weekend.
Honor Flight Maine took Korean and Vietnam War veterans to Washington, D.C. to tour the memorials and monuments built in their honor.
Honor Flight provides an all-expenses paid trip for the veterans to visit.
Vietnam veteran James Davis of Norway said this was his first trip to our nation’s capital.
He says the trip makes him proud of his service.
“When I came back from Vietnam, came into California. We did not get a very nice greeting. Now we are getting into greeting with each other,” Davis said. “It makes me feel very proud. Proud to be in America.”
To make the trip even more special, Davis got to share the trip with his son who is also a veteran.
The group will be honored with a Welcom
