CLEVELAND, Ohio – The sound of a mosquito buzzing near your ear is annoying to the point of a frenetic fight. Fear of itchy bumps and the irritating whine can cause one to box their own ears. When it stops, relief floods the senses. That is, until it starts again, whether the same bug evaded the smack down or its sister tagged along and took over.

I’m beginning to think this is how some freedom of speech is sounding to those who don’t like what’s being said or conveyed. Or maybe people’s freedom to speak, to criticize, to inspire makes some people nervous. What’s certain is the shushing is becoming ridiculous.
