The Baltimore Ravens (1-4) are reeling entering their Week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams (3-2).

Baltimore was crushed 44-10 last Sunday at home against the Houston Texans, and its depleted roster could shoulder the blame.

Lamar Jackson missed Week 5 due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the Ravens' Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cooper Rush started under center and the Ravens struggled in all facets. Baltimore has lost 10 of its last 12 games when playing without the two-time NFL MVP and they could be without him again today.

The Ravens have a litany of injuries they'll try to overcome. Here's the latest on Jackson after Baltimore's 17-3 loss to Los Angeles in Week 6.

Lamar Jackson injury update

The Ravens have ruled out the two-time MVP for Sunday's game.

The team announced Jackson's status on Friday afternoon. He did not practice all week due to his hamstring injury, and the team will start Cooper Rush for the second consecutive game.

The veteran backup struggled against a feisty Texans defense in his 2025 debut, completing 14 of 20 passes against Houston for 179 yards and had three interceptions in the loss.

Rush's issues continued Sunday, as he completed 11 of 19 passes for just 72 yards and an interception before being benched late in favor of Tyler Huntley.

When will Lamar Jackson return?

It appears Baltimore is planning to have Jackson available when it hosts the Chicago Bears at home in Week 8.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh was asked following the Ravens' Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams whether he expected Jackson to be back after the team's Week 7 bye. His response?

"I'm saying so," Harbaugh said. "But you know, I don't know. That's how life is sometimes. You can't predict everything. It's still the future. But that's the hope."

Harbaugh had implied earlier in his news conference Jackson might soon be ready to return from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for each of the Ravens' last two games.

"We're going to have healthy players coming back," Harbaugh said. "I mean, our quarterback's going to be back. That's probably a big one."

Jackson's initial diagnosis was to miss 2 to 3 weeks because of his injury. Week 6 put him at lower end of that timeline. Week 8 will place him past the latter end of it. The Ravens did not place Jackson on injured reserve (IR), which would have required him to miss at least four games.

Ravens QB depth chart

  • Lamar Jackson (injured)
  • Cooper Rush
  • Tyler Huntley

Rush made his second start of the season Sunday. The veteran went 4-4 last season as a starter for the Dallas Cowboys after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury.

Huntley was promoted from the practice squad to serve as Rush's backup.
