SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California has taken a significant step forward in wildfire safety with the signing of three key bills by Governor Gavin Newsom.

California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara on Friday announced these new laws, which focus on wildfire mitigation efforts, reducing risks, and encouraging insurers to return to the market.

The new laws aim to provide financial assistance for wildfire safety, enhance insurance discounts, and create the nation's first public wildfire model for community planning and education.
