Swift action has begun in Bihar’s Doodh Paniya with Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rajeev Roushan announcing his decision to adopt the village and pledging long-term care for its residents. Central teams from Delhi are expected to visit tomorrow after a letter was sent by local authorities. This comes after India Today uncovered the health crisis affecting the young in the village, resulting in multiple deaths at an early age.

Medical teams have also been rushed to the site, while the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) collected water samples for testing. Meanwhile, repair work has started on the damaged supply tank.
