TORONTO – Five things to watch for in the Canadian business world in the coming week:

BCE investor day

Shareholders will hear from top executives at BCE Inc. when the parent company of Bell Canada holds its investor day on Tuesday. BCE, which is widely held by individual investors, cut its quarterly dividend to shareholders earlier this year.

Rogers speech

Bank of Canada senior deputy governor Carolyn Rogers will take part in a fireside chat about the urgent need to improve Canada’s productivity levels at the B.C. Business Summit in Vancouver on Tuesday. Rogers said in a speech at the Canadian Club Toronto last week that competition is a path to better productivity and took aim at high levels of concentration in the Canadian banking sector.
