Ian Watkins, the former frontman for the rock band Lostprophets, has reportedly died after being stabbed in prison, according to the BBC .
Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year sentence for child sex offenses at His Majesty’s Prison Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England. West Yorkshire Police told the BBC that authorities responded to an assault on a prisoner on the morning of Oct. 11. The prisoner was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the prison confirmed an incident occurred but told the BBC they were “unable to comment further while the police investigate.”
