Michigan’s hockey team is off to a 4-0 start.

The 10th-ranked Wolverines downed No. 7 Providence 3-1 on Saturday to complete a road sweep. They won Friday’s opener 5-1, fueled by sophomore forward Michael Hage’s two goals.

The 2024 first-round pick of the Canadiens is third in the nation with four goals and nine points this season.

On Saturday, Michigan used two shorthanded goals to upend the Friars. Freshman Malcolm Spence, a 2025 second-round selection of the Raiders, started the scoring at the 10:57 mark of the first period. Senior Josh Eernisse extended the lead to 2-0 with another shorthanded goal 6:35 into the second.
