Carson Soucy was placed on injured reserve on Sunday ahead of the Rangers’ matchup with the Capitals at Madison Square Garden.

After the 31-year-old defenseman sustained an upper-body injury in the second period of their eventual 6-1 victory in Pittsburgh on Saturday, which knocked him out for the remainder of the contest, the Rangers ruled Soucy out for at least a week.

Connor Mackey was subsequently recalled for the Rangers’ AHL affiliate in Hartford.
