Penn State has called it quits with James Franklin after the humiliating defeat to Northwestern. An era comes to an end at Happy Valley with the former HC’s dismissal, who has built an otherwise commendable resume so far. Franklin was 3-3 at the time of his dismissal.

Associate head coach Terry Smith takes over for Franklin as interim HC for the Nittany Lions.
