BANGOR -- It was a sea of vibrant colors along the Bangor waterfront Sunday for the 13th annual Pound the Pavement to End Cancer color walk and run.

The event drew around 400 people and kicked off behind sea dog brewing.

Throughout the course, participants are doused from head to toe in colored powder.

All the proceeds go directly to the purple iris foundation, a local nonprofit that supports individuals and families affected by cancer.

Their goal this year is to raise around 30 thousand to benefit families during the winter months.

According to founder Chris Parrish, the event also aims to spread positivity during times that can be very dark.
