Wiggins Waterfront Promenade and Sheila Roberts Park are among five community revitalization projects in Camden that will share a $5.7 million improvement award from the state.

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority announced the award earlier this month, according to a statement .

The award will support projects designed to restore foot traffic and economic vitality to areas hit hard by the pandemic.

Wiggins Waterfront Promenade will receive $1 million in funding.

Improvements will include essential site and utility work and public art, supported by a $300,000 match from the William Penn Foundation.

Sheila Roberts Park will receive access improvements, upgraded plazas and sidewalks, enhanced safety features, and new family-friendly amenities.
