Two people were hospitalized Sunday following an overnight stabbing that's being investigated by police in Stoneham, Massachusetts.

Stoneham police say officers responded around 1 a.m. to the area of Spring Street in Wakefield for reports of a stabbing and found a gray Chevrolet Trax. Two victims had been taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver, an 18-year-old male, sustained serious injuries, while the passenger, also 18, sustained what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation suggested the incident began in Stoneham.
