SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) -- A stranded hiker on Mount Superior was saved by Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Saturday evening, per a Facebook post.

At 7:04 p.m. Saturday, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) was called to assist a stranded hiker who was "cliffed out" on the south ridge of Mount Superior, up Little Cottonwood Canyon.

The hiker, who had set our earlier Saturday in an attempt to summit the mountain, found themselves off trail as a snowstorm traveled into the Wasatch Mountains.

Amid temperatures dropping below 30 degrees and limited visibility to blowing snow, the hiker called for help.
