LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Denny Hamlin captured his 60th career NASCAR Cup Series victory in the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday.
Hamlin's milestone win punched his ticket to the Championship 4 finale in Phoenix as well as placing him among the sport's elite.
Driving the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, Hamlin started from the pole position, keeping alive a trend that has now seen 11 of the last 12 Las Vegas winners start inside the top 10. Sunday's win marks Hamlin's second career triumph in Las Vegas, with the first in September 2021.
“This one means a lot,” Hamlin said post-race, “I just put the pedal down those last 10 laps and made it happen. Honestly, if you’d asked me yesterday, I would’ve said we didn’t have it. But I’m super proud of the team for the adjustments
