Astronomy enthusiasts are in for a treat as Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) will be visible from Earth on October 22. The comet, the Orionid meteor shower maximum, and the coming of a rare companion all hint at one of the most beautiful night sky events of the year.

First spotted by the Mount Lemmon Survey in Arizona during January 2025, the Comet Lemmon transformed from a fragile object (magnitude roughly 21.5 upon discovery) to a nice copy to watch the sky. The coma and tail became prominent in the latest weeks, and they could be easily observed with binoculars and small telescopes.

The comet is the closest to pass through the sky since the Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) in January 2024. The comet will pass close to the sun, perihelion, on November 8 with approximately 49.25 million miles (79.25 mil
