GODLEY, Texas — A former police chief and ex-officer in Godley were indicted on charges that they misused a city gas card for personal purchases, according to officials.

The two men were previously arrested in Bosque County earlier this year for the charges related to the alleged misuse of city fuel cards.

Former Police Chief Matthew Cantrell and former Officer Solomon Omotoya turned themselves in to Bosque County authorities Oct. 8, according to The City of Godley. The two former law enforcement members were formally indicted Oct. 1.

Cantrell faces one count of violating motor fuel tax requirements. Omotoya faces four charges: violating motor fuel tax requirements, theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000, credit card or debit card abuse, and abuse of official capacity inv
