BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Three men are being called heroes after they were in the right place at the right time on Thursday, Oct. 9.

Two brothers Jacques Billiot and Nathan Billiot and their friend Brady Dufrene, 20 were getting ready to pick up their boat at Besson's Boat Launch in Cut Off when a vehicle headed straight into the water, according to Lafourche Parish Fire District 3.

They said the three men immediately jumped into the water and pulled an elderly woman out of her vehicle.

After she was rescued, firefighters got there and searched the vehicle for any other occupants.

In a post on their Facebook page, the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 thanked the trio for their heroism and courage.
