A man has appeared in court charged with multiple crimes including assault and firearms offences, after an incident at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary which saw two people 'assaulted' and the A&E department evacuated.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including officers from Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, at around 5.30pm on Friday, October 10.

Two people received treatment following the incident. The extent of their injuries are currently unknown.

The A&E department eventually reopened at around 7.40pm on Friday evening after NHS Grampian urged people only to attend if the were having an emergency.
