WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — Nearly 100 members of the Connecticut National Guard are getting ready to head overseas.
On Monday, soldiers and their families had an opportunity to say their goodbyes at the Windsor Locks Readiness Center in Windsor Locks before boarding busses and being transported to the Bradley Air National Guard Base in East Granby.
There, they will board an airplane and ultimately be flown to their deployment location
The deployment will last about a year.
The Connecticut National Guard can't reveal where they're going or for what reason, just that they’re headed to the U.S. Southern Command located in Doral, Florida.
