BRYAN, Texas — The Bryan Police Department has released more information on the fatal September shooting that left one dead.

According to officials, police responded to a shots-fired call at 6:10 a.m. Sept. 29 in the 2400 block of Jaguar Dr. There, officers found 27-year-old DeBrandon Charles, who had sustained life threatening gunshot wounds .

Police immediately began to render life-saving measures on scene before transporting Charles to a local hospital, where he later died.

The department said its initial investigation into the shooting revealed that three people were involved in a "physical altercation" that resulted in shots being fired. The cause of the altercation is still unknown.
