To one Pennsylvania lawmaker, the new ceasefire between Israel and Hamas marked the end of a nightmare for families and a nation awaiting the return of hostages since Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

To another, it was essential to help reunite both Palestinian and Israeli families, and a moment to call for aid to Gaza and accountability for an Israeli military response that’s left tens of thousands of Palestinians dead and many of those who were displaced returning to destroyed homes.
