TEXARKANA, Texas - Stepping up safety on one of Texarkana’s busiest roadways is the goal behind TXDOT's newest project.
Crews will be adding contrast striping to a portion of Interstate 30 this week. The improvements in the construction zone are designed to enhance visibility and safety in the area.
Contrast pavement markings are being place on westbound I-30 at the split in traffic just east of Summerhill Road. Traffic will be down to one lane while the safety improvements are being added to the pavement.
TXDOT officials say the combination of black and white markings will add extra visual aid for lane guidance, said Heather Deaton, TXDOT PIO.
She encourages drivers to put away all distractions while driving and pay attention to signs and message boards.
“We ask everybody driving thr
