Dominant and resilient. Those are the words that best describe the 2025 Coronado Islanders girls’ tennis team. Coming into the week, the Islanders were already off to one of their best starts in program history, boasting a pristine 8-0 record.

This week, though, the dial was expected to be turned up a notch. The Islanders were slated to face off against two of their toughest Eastern League foes: Mission Bay and Canyon Hills.

While both the Buccaneers and Rattlers gave Coronado their best shot, neither was good enough to knock them down as Coronado secured two critical, nail-biting wins. Keeping their perfect season alive, and pushing their record to 10-0.
