LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (WCAX) - A popular hiking and skiing welcome center in the Adirondacks that closed in August is now up for sale.

A new property listing shows the Cascade Welcome Center in Lake Placid for sale.

Adirondack Mountain Club Executive Director Cortney Worrall said they’re asking around $2.8 million for the welcome center.

That’s $300,000 more than what the club bought it for in 2022.

Worrall said the decision to sell will allow the organization to focus on its Heart Lake Program Center and educational services.
