Matt Rhule wants to know if the Nebraska football team can make the second and third quarters feel like the fourth quarter.
While the Huskers have excelled over the final 15 minutes of their games this season — Nebraska is outscoring its opponents 65-16 in the fourth quarter — Rhule is hoping that Nebraska can eliminate the need for late scoring surges altogether.
“Love what we’re doing in the fourth quarter, need to improve the third quarter,” Rhule said Monday.
“As I told our guys, that’s back-to-back weeks we’ve had a 14-point lead and a 10-point lead, and in both those games, we’ve allowed the team to come back. We have to be better about playing complementary football and putting people away.”
