ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A new survey of more than 1,700 residents across the Finger Lakes region shows that many people continue to face major barriers to accessing health care, especially in rural areas.
The Access to Health Care Survey, conducted between July and November 2024 by the Pivital Public Health Partnership and eight county health departments, found that residents struggle most with a lack of providers, transportation difficulties, and insurance limitations.
The survey included participants from Chemung, Livingston, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates counties.
