VEAZIE, Maine (WABI) - On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the Maine Indian Tribal-State Commission held a gathering in Veazie.

Monday was a celebration of Sea Run , a report on traditional tribal fisheries, now available in audiobook.

Organizers hope introducing this new medium helps spreads Sea Run’s message even further.

The Maine Indian Tribal-State Commission, or MITSC, initially published the Sea Run study in December 2022.

The special report addresses the impact of Maine policies and practices on fish stocks and tribal peoples’ access to them.
