PHILIPPI, W.Va. (WBOY) — Philippi residents are all too familiar with the crosswalk on North Main Street that leads from a parking lot to The Small Mall and the Philippi City Gym, but concerns are growing about just how safe it is for people who use it.

Although this crosswalk sits on the busiest side of the city, only one sign facing southbound informs drivers of the walkway, creating a dangerous potential for those who use it, including children who participate in the gym's basketball league.

Tony Baisi, a concerned Philippi resident, spoke to 12 News about his concerns surrounding the crosswalk.
