TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Pima County Board of Supervisors is set to discuss a resolution opposing federal interference in higher education at their upcoming meeting.

The meeting will take place on Oct. 14, and Pima County Supervisor Jennifer Allen is requesting an agenda item for the resolution, which opposes federal conditions on funding that could compromise academic freedom at the University of Arizona.

This move follows a similar resolution passed by the Tucson City Council last week.

The proposal is a direct response to the White House's letter suggesting conditional federal funding for universities like the University of Arizona, contingent on aligning with President Trump's agenda. Concerns have been raised about potential federal overreach and the erosion of academic freedom
