SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) -- A South Spencer high school football player is recovering after being airlifted from a football game.
JaQuar Johnson was airlifted to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis after being tackled during a Friday night football game.
Johnson says he doesn't remember much of his day at school, before the game or even getting hit. At the hospital he says he saw a brick wall, the CT machine and heard the doctor's concerns over his spine.
“For all my life I wanted to go to college for my sport or any sport in general, but once I heard them say we might have to check his spine, everything, just everything, worst case scenario came,” says Johnson. “How am I going to get to school?
