HICKMAN, Ky. (WSIL) -- Forensic experts confirmed a DNA match between bones recovered in Hickman and a missing person case involving Nicky Avent , according to the Hickman Police Department.

Police said the remains were discovered on September 14, 2025, by a citizen on an ATV in a rural area. Local law enforcement agencies and the Fulton County Coroner's Office immediately began an investigation.

The coroner's office conducted a thorough forensic examination, collecting DNA samples for analysis. "According to the medical examiner there were no signs of foul play from the remains that were submitted," Hickman Police stated in an online post.
