The Buffalo Bills are adding injury to insult.
Linebacker Terrel Bernard and cornerback Christian Benford were hurt on the same series late in the second quarter against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
Bernard was being blocked by guard Chris Lindstrom when he collided with players from both teams trying to pursue a carry by running back Bijan Robinson.
Bernard right foot bend sideways against the turf as he fell on his back. The defensive captain grabbed his knee and ankle in pain. To make matters worse, his teammate, safety Taylor Rapp, was pushed to the ground by wide receiver Drake London. Rapp landed on Benford's right leg.
Bernard was initially ruled questionable to return with a right ankle injury. He sat on the bench wearing a beanie to start the second half.
