MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - A Montpelier man is in jail facing charges for attempted murder and assault.

Montpelier police say 20-year-old Gerald Goodell allegedly violently assaulted multiple people, including choking one person, outside an apartment on Elm Street.

Officers say after talking to witnesses, they found him at his house nearby.

Goodell was arrested, charged, and ordered to be held without bail.
